April 3, 2020
This month is child abuse prevention month. It takes a community…
What a wild start to the month and really the year. 2020 started with excitement and opportunity. Even with the craziness of Covid19, I am still excited about the opportunities yet to come this year. That being said it is extremely disheartening to think about children in isolation. More specifically high risk children. I have kept up with the news and calls to child referral hotlines are dropping drastically…by 50%. This does not mean children are not suffering from abuse and neglect, it means no one is seeing it to report. For so many children, school was their lifeline, their safe place. Now what? We really don’t know, but as a community we have to make every effort to make sure our at risk children are safe. Kin Connect has put together Relief Bags and distributed them to our local Police Department and County DHS for kids at risk. It takes the entire community to keep kids safe and not just during April designated as Child Abuse Prevention Month, and not just because of the Covid19 Pandemic…but every month and every day!
We must work together. If you see something, say something.

These kids need a voice, so glad you are one of them! Thank you for advocating for our most vulnerable!
Thank you!
