To prepare, to foster the growth of…
I love this time of year. Farmers are burning ditches and working fields in preparation to plant. The newly turned dirt after the swipe of a tractor and plow is comforting to me. It must resonate with me as happy and carefree times from my childhood.
Watching the tractors and thinking about the care and time it takes to grow a crop is pretty amazing. I also find the work that my foster and kinship homes provide to be amazing.
I am so thankful for Foster Parents and Kinship Parents. May is National Foster Care Month and our care providers are unsung heroes. Parenting is hard but parenting children from hard places takes a super hero! These selfless people take in abused and neglected children and love them like their own. They cultivate. They nurture and foster growth along with healing. I love being a part of new life all around, not just in my physical surrounding but in the homes of my foster and kinship families. They are literally cultivating; fostering the growth of children. That is pretty amazing and I am blessed to be on this journey with them.
