It is our goal to create a space for parents and children to feel heard and seen. In a study done by the Children’s Bureau in 2009, it was found that the outcome of permanency relied heavily on services to the family following reunification and within the home. They found that having support within the home prevented
another placement disruption and reentry into foster care.

Support services

We serve children and parents who have entered the Child Welfare system, from referral phase through a successful reunification.

Who we serve:

Often times, parents or guardians within the Child Welfare system, struggle to navigate
the Child Welfare system. Our goal is to encourage connection with the Department and
bridge that communication gap.
The barriers between parents and the Department can be lessoned with education and
support offered by our program.
Parenting doesn't come with a how to guide, and the families we serve may have very
limited supports to help guide them through day-to-day needs. We are ecstatic to be
their village and support.

Parent Services:

Outside of Kin Connect, programs currently available to children under 12 years of age
are limited, however, our program is eager to serve children between the ages of 6 to
18. While therapeutic support for these children is very important, they may need
additional services to supplement that treatment.
Our goal is to provide child advocacy, youth groups, and social outlets.
• TBRI led support
• Frequency of meetings to be determined
